Does SBOATI have an insurance product available in my state?

Yes, there is an SBOATI product available in every state. Consult the list below to see whether your state requires a limited lines license. If it does, we will assist you through the process of obtaining a license to join the Renter's Program. If you are in a non-licensing state, the Operator Provided Program is available to you.

Do I have to require proof of insurance as a condition of rental at my facility?

In the Renter's Program, the decision to require proof of insurance as a condition of rental is a storage facility management decision and is reflected in lease language. Most operators require some proof of insurance as a condition of rental in order to protect themselves from tenant claims. An SBOATI salesperson can help you understand the impact of lease compliance and will work with you to determine what is best for you. By law, you may not require insurance or proof of insurance in New York.

How does invoicing work?

You will be invoiced at the beginning of the month for the premium resulting from the previous month's coverage. You will receive the invoice via email and can submit your payment through our free ACH option or by writing a check. If you have any questions throughout the process, you are only a phone call away from a friendly and experienced professional.

Do I need to submit my insurance reports manually?

If you operate with SiteLink, Yardi/Centershift, DoorSwap, or eMove/WebSelfStorage, the SBOATI program is integrated with your Point of Sale system, and you will not need to send manual reports every month.

What changes need to be made to my Point of Sale system before I can begin the SBOATI program?

As a part of joining our program, you will be contacted for POS setup. This will involve configuring a few fields and forms in your system. The exact details of this procedure will vary depending on the type of POS you use.

What type of training will be provided to my employees?

We require that all facility personnel who will be interacting with the tenants be trained. When you provide us the necessary contact information, we will email each person an invitation to our online training modules, which are short and can be conveniently paused and re-started. Modules have tests at the end that must be passed. After taking this training, your employees will be able to confidently communicate with your tenants.

How can I re-order marketing materials?

You don't have to worry about placing an order for your initial shipment of marketing materials - we will send them to you automatically. When you run out of a product, you may place your order online, email your request to support, or call 1-800-792-0345 and select marketing.
